Rep. Connelly speaks to LTRO on what’s going wrong in Springfield

Connelly

LTRO had another productive and inspiring  meeting with our State  Representative Mike Connelly speaking about the efforts of Republicans in the state legislature to bring reform an fiscal sanity to Springfield government. Mike explained that the key word for Republicans in Springfield is “REFORM” and how our Republican representatives have strived courageously against the Democrats to bring transparency to Springfield government.

Mike related how the Democrats watered down and gutted the reccomendations of the Collins Commission for real reform of state government and the unity of the Republican representatives in unanimously voting down the Democratic proposal for a tax increase.

Mike further informed LTRO membership and guests that Republican representatives have not just been saying “NO” to Democratic proposals, but offering REAL solutions to our state government’s dire financial straits that does NOT involve tax increases. Of course, the Democrats would have none of it.

All citizens who support true reform in Illinois have  the right to be proud of Representative Connelly and all Republican state legislators. The clock is ticking to November 2010 when a Republican landside will usher in a new morning for Illinois!

A Little Bit about the National Debt.

U.S. NATIONAL DEBT CLOCK The Outstanding Public Debt as of  June 6, 2009 is $11,393,705,265,591.67

The estimated population of the United States is 306,315,459
so each citizen’s share of this debt is $37,195.99.The National Debt has continued to increase an average of $3.87 billion per day since September 28, 2007!
(Based on calculations by the U.S. Treasury)

President  Obama wants to  ADD $10 trillion to the already existing national debt. The Republican Party is pledged to stop this madness and insure that our children and grandchildren will not be burdened by Democratic fiscal irresponsibility.

How much is this? You would have to spend $13,700,000.00 every day, since the birth of Christ, (2,000 years) to equal 10 trillion!

What President Obama told Congressman Roskam

Peter Roskam     While being interviewed on the radio show “Politics the Law and You”, Illinois Republican Congressman Peter Roskam (6th dist.)  disclosed a statement that President Obama made to him that should shock any responsible citizen.  Congressman Roskam disclosed that in a conversation with the President, the President stated that the reason  FDR did not succeed with the New Deal (since it was World War II that pulled the country out of the depression and the millions of ordinary Americans, not foreign countries, who financed the war through the purchase of millions of war bonds, thus keeping American money in America) was that FDR DID NOT SPEND ENOUGH!  This, more than anything, shows us where the President wants to take this country. We Republicans have not just an obligation, but a duty to do all we can to sound the alarm and reign in and defeat the President’s political agenda, for our sake and the sake of our children! Let your friends and neighbors know about President Obama’s real agenda!

Happiness is - Being Republican! (According to Pew Research)

Robert Roy Britt Editorial Director LiveScience.com robert Roy Britt editorial Director livescience.comSat May 16, 9:56 am ET

Americans grow happier as they age, surveys find. And a new Pew Research Center survey shows the tendency is holding up as the economy tanks.

Happiness is a complex thing. Past studies have found that happiness is partly inherited, that Republicans are happier than Democrats.

If you’re thinking that Republicans are happy just because they perhaps make more money, that does not seem to be the case. The study that found Republicans to be happier than Democrats also showed that it held true even after adjusting for income.

Not everyone in any category is blissful, of course. Other research has shown that happiness in old age depends largely on attitude factors such as optimism and coping strategies. Add financial planning to the list.

Now for the good news: A study in January found that key groups of people in the United States have grown happier over the past few decades, while other have become less so. The result: Happiness inequality has decreased since the 1970s. Americans are becoming more similar to each other on the happiness scale.
